Teen Touring Company 2013

MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING

The Teen Touring Company is a unique opportunity for teenagers to create and tour an 80-minute Shakespeare play. Students work with a professional director, and then perform on tour at schools and senior centers for three weeks each Spring. Students will be expected to miss three days of school for in-schools performances; a complete performance schedule will be available at the auditions.

To sign up to audition, contact the Education Director at 415-499-4487 or education@marinshakespeare.org. For the audition, please prepare to perform a Shakespearean monologue of 1 to 2 minutes, from any play. We prefer that you memorize the monologue, but it is acceptable to read it if you prefer. You should wear comfortable clothes, as you will be participating in warm-up exercises and other group acting activities. You will also be given scenes from the play to read; you will have time to look over any scenes before you are asked to read. We strongly encourage all actors to plan to attend both days of auditions. If you cannot attend both days, or cannot attend auditions, please let us know when you sign up for the program.

Please fill out an Enrollment Form and return it to us no later than November 27. (It's fine to bring it with you to the audition.) Typically, everyone who auditions is cast. If you decide not to do the program after casting and before rehearsals begin, we will refund all but $25 of the tuition fee.

Rehearsals

January 8 - February 28, 2013
Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Sunday days, times to be determined

You will not be called to every rehearsal. Please be prepared to list all your rehearsals conflicts at the time you audition.

Rehearsals will be held at Marin Ballet, 100 Elm Street in San Rafael.
