Youth Classes

Marin Shakespeare's Youth Classes provide afterschool and weekend classes throughout the school year. We also provide drama classes at many local schools.

For Homeschoolers
Acting Basics for Homeschoolers (Ages 6 - 9)

Wednesdays 9:00 - 10:30 am

FALL: September 14 - November 16, 2011
WINTER: January 18 - March 21, 2012
SPRING: March 28 - June 6, 2012 (one week off in April for Spring holidays)
LOCATION: Marin Ballet, 100 Elm St., San Rafael
TUITION: $200

This course is designed for homeschoolers and includes improvisation, projection, and performance. Students will use creative dramatics to practice concentration, ensemble, creativity and confidence. Each session culminates in a final performance based on the characters from a Shakespeare play.

Shakespeare in ACTion for Homeschoolers (Ages 10 - 15)

Wednesdays 11:45 am - 1:45 pm

This class will take an in-depth look at Shakespeare, covering the basics of scansion, text analysis, and poetic devices, and using this knowledge in performing scenes and speeches from the plays. Each session culminates in a final performance.
