Marga Gomez
GLAAD award winning solo performer Marga Gomez will dive into the One For All Festival with Swimming With Lesbians, a buoyant and bawdy romp, set aboard a fictional lesbian luxury ocean liner. In the course of her high energy journey Gomez morphs into a boatload of lustful characters including: Isabelle, an accident prone Lacrosse player yearning for her first Lesbian affair, the ship’s commander, Captain Debbie, who goes strictly by the book (in this case it’s The Kama Sutra) and Pru Perez, the butch presenting but secretly meek bingo caller, spending days at sea in hiding from her childhood bully Arlene who has booked passage.
Swimming With Lesbians made its 2024 world premiere at LaMaMa Experimental Theater. It was developed at The Marsh and Brava Theater in San Francisco. The San Francisco Chronicle described Gomez as mixing “an anthropologist’s observational prowess with a musician’s ear for the funny-sounding word” Bay City News declared her as a “sublime gift to the comedy world.” Swimming with Lesbians runs approximately 75 minutes with no intermission.Recommended for audiences over 17.
