Twelfth Night

AUDITIONS for Actors 13-18, December 1st

The Teen Touring Company is a unique opportunity for actors aged 13 -18, to create and tour a 50-minute Shakespeare play to schools, senior centers and community organizations. Join us to explore this classic comedy, chock full of mistaken identities, unrequited love, yellow stockings and Shakespeare’s beautiful, funny language, with director, theatre artist, playwright and performer, Aisha Rivera at the helm.  All roles are available for performers of any gender.

Monday, December 1st, 5-7:30 PM at 514 Fourth Street in San Rafael.

What to prepare:  a 15-25 line Shakespeare monologue (verse preferred) or sonnet.  Memorization is recommended, but not required.  Also be prepared to cold read from Twelfth Night and participate in a group warm-up.  Plan to stay for the whole 2.5-hour session.

Schedule:
REHEARSALS: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, January 9-February 12, 2026 5:30-8:30 PM, No rehearsal February 17, 18 & 19 
Depending on the cast size, students may not be called to every rehearsal
TECH WEEK: February 23-26, 4:30-8:30 PM (Mandatory attendance) 

PRODUCTION CALENDAR

Public Performance: Friday, February 28, 7:00 PM. Open to family, friends and the general public. 

Touring Performances:  TBD from February 28- March 16, typically 12-14 performances. Students will be expected to miss up to three days of school for in-school performances. A performance calendar will be available at auditions. 

All auditions, rehearsals and the public performance will be held at 514 Fourth Street in San Rafael.

Participation Fee: $900

Need-based scholarships are available for all Marin Shakespeare Company classes.

Touring February 28 – March 15, 2026

PRICING: $100/performance. To support the continuation of the tour and Marin Shakespeare’s other educational programs, we ask that host locations pay a fee when their reservation is confirmed.  We will consider need-based discounts of up to 100% of the booking fee for locations that qualify.   Please note: your ability to pay will have no bearing on whether or not your location is selected.

PERFORMANCE RUN TIME: The production will run approximately 45 – 50 minutes, with a 10-minute Q&A with the actors after the production for a total run time of 60 minutes.

Aisha Rivera
DIRECTOR

Aisha (they/them) is an actor, visual artist, playwright and poet from Napa, CA. Favorite acting credits include Yerma (Shotgun Players), Dead Man’s Cellphone (Upstage Napa Valley), and Cymbeline (Berkeley Shakespeare Company). Aisha is also the current Poet Laureate for Napa County. Their poetry can be found in the poetry anthologies “Poetics without Borders” and “Latinas, Gender, Race, and Class…”. Aisha is excited to empower youth through Shakespeare!
